Peter Obi Drops 2025 Shocker: Blasts Tinubu as Power Supply Crisis Worsens Nationwide

Peter Obi Drops 2025 bombshell, it’s quite a shocker as he takes aim at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over Nigeria’s deepening electricity crisis, accusing the current administration of letting down its citizens with a string of broken promises regarding power supply.

Obi, who was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, expressed that Nigerians deserve far better than a never-ending cycle of darkness and excuses from leaders who vowed to bring about change but keep failing to provide reliable electricity.

Let’s not forget: President Bola Tinubu, during his campaign on December 22, 2022, confidently stated:

“If I don’t deliver constant electricity in the next 4 years, don’t vote for me for a second term.”

For a country already struggling with the largest population living without electricity in the world, that promise brought a glimmer of hope for millions of Nigerians. However, nearly two years into his presidency, the reality paints a different picture.

More Blackouts, More Failures

Under Tinubu and the APC government, Nigerians have endured frequent failures of the national grid and worsening power outages. Despite investing billions of dollars into power projects over the years, the country still only manages to produce a paltry 4,500–5,000MW — a far cry from what’s needed for genuine progress.

In contrast, nations like Vietnam, Egypt, Indonesia, and Bangladesh, which have similar or even smaller economies, have made smart investments in their power sectors. Today, they’ve managed to double or even triple their electricity generation, boosting industries, creating jobs, and lifting millions out of poverty. Nigeria, on the other hand, remains stagnant.

Economic Losses from Poor Power Supply

With a GDP of around $200 billion, Nigeria could potentially increase its economy by at least 50% if it could generate just 10,000MW of power. Reliable electricity would unlock industrial growth, revive struggling factories, empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), create millions of jobs, and help reduce poverty.  Peter Obi Drops 2025

Instead, the government’s priorities seem misplaced. Billions are being funneled into coastal roads and political projects that do little to enhance productivity, while businesses crumble, jobs disappear, and everyday Nigerians are left in the dark.

Peter Obi is once again calling on Tinubu to keep his promise to the Nigerian people. He emphasizes that the key to progress lies in focusing on electricity generation and distribution, rather than getting sidetracked by political issues.  Peter Obi Drops 2025

“Mr. President, it’s time to energize our businesses, especially the SMEs, which are the backbone of our economy. Without reliable electricity, we risk losing jobs, industries, and the chance for growth. A New Nigeria is within reach.” – Peter Obi

What are your thoughts? Should Tinubu be held accountable for his electricity promise by 2027?

Meanwhile; Peter Obi boldly blasts Tinubu, accuse him of borrowing Nigerians yet unborn into slavery in this 21st century, with the high debt profile the country is currently facing, Obi has refused to keep quite, insist on telling truth to power no matter what happens.
