During the latest hearing, the first prosecution witness, Peter Obumuneme Okoye, took the stand before Justice Rahman Oshodi. He revealed that the defendant’s wife holds 800,000 shares in Northside Music Limited. This information was part of an official statement released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which is handling the prosecution.

The EFCC stated that this testimony is crucial in establishing the ownership and shareholding structure of Northside Music Limited, a company at the heart of this legal battle. The prosecution is working to clarify how shares were distributed and managed while Jude Okoye was managing the Psquare brand.

The court learned that these shareholding details became significant during the investigation into the company’s financial dealings. Prosecutors are trying to uncover the level of control and benefits that individuals associated with the management of the firm have received.

Jude Okoye, who previously played a vital role in managing Psquare before the group’s public fallout and eventual split, has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. This case has captured public interest, largely due to the high-profile nature of those involved and the ongoing business disputes surrounding the famous music duo.

Justice Oshodi has decided to push back the proceedings to a later date, allowing for more witness testimony and a deeper look into the documents presented by the prosecution.

The trial is set to pick up again with more witnesses from the EFCC, as the court digs deeper into the financial and corporate dealings of Northside Music Limited.
