Actress Nkiru Sylvanus has come out to clear the air on why she left acting since 8 years ago, she said her decision was never because of marriage but her love for politics made her quit the acting industry.

Nkiru Sylvanus, the popular Nollywood actress who has transitioned into politics, has finally shared the real reason behind her departure from the film industry, despite her rising fame in the past.

In a recent interview, the actress, affectionately known as “Ble Ble” by her fans, clarified that her choice to step away from Nollywood wasn’t due to marriage, as many have speculated, but rather stemmed from her strong desire for a more meaningful career.

“Most people don’t really know why I left Nollywood to chase a different path. Today, I’m fully immersed in politics, but my journey began long before this,” she explained.

Nkiru Sylvanus kicked off her acting career at the young age of 17. While her first film didn’t garner much attention, she truly made her mark in 2002 with the hit movie “A Cry For Help.” This emotional role catapulted her into the spotlight, earning her a place as one of the most beloved actresses of her time.

Even though she loved acting, Sylvanus admitted that her heart yearned for something “more peaceful, impactful, and fulfilling.”

Her Views on Marriage and Political Career

Addressing some misconceptions, the actress emphasized that her departure from Nollywood in the 2000s had nothing to do with marriage.

“I didn’t leave acting because of marriage. I’ve only been married for two years, but I stepped away from the screen over eight years ago,” she clarified.

Now, Nkiru Sylvanus is happily married and fully dedicated to her political career, which she sees as a new opportunity to serve the community.

“I miss acting because of the passion I had for it, but politics offers me a new platform — one where I can genuinely make a difference,” she said.

The WhatsApp Message That Changed Everything

In 2020, Jasmine received a disturbing WhatsApp message that read: “Please, help… Daddy needs you.” Initially dismissing it as a scam, she soon discovered that Mr. Ibu was in Lagos, sick, broke, and abandoned.

“Every day, he begged me for money, and I sent what I could. But when I finally saw him, I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was thin, weak, and broken,” she said.
