If we don’t make 2025 the year we demand real change, accountability, and affordable healthcare, how many more lives will we have to lose before someone finally takes notice?

Health shouldn’t be a luxury, but in Nigeria today, many people find themselves making the tough choice between buying medicine or food. That’s the harsh reality we’re facing, and it’s costing lives while also draining our economy.

Dr. Goodluck Nwobike, KSC, puts it bluntly: “An unhealthy population equals an unproductive economy.” He’s absolutely right. As the prices of medicine continue to soar, more Nigerians are losing their lives to conditions that could easily be treated.

On the other hand, in America, Donald Trump didn’t just make promises—he took action by signing an Executive Order that cut prescription medicine prices by up to 65%. Now that’s what I call real leadership.

So, why is our government still quiet on this issue?

President Tinubu has two years left in office. That’s plenty of time to: Reduce import duties on essential drugs, Subsidize lifesaving medications, Boost local pharmaceutical production, and Show that the lives of Nigerians matter more than political strategies.

High drug prices lead to high death rates, which in turn can cause economic collapse. A nation that is sick cannot thrive. This isn’t just politics—it’s a matter of survival.

Tinubu needs to take action now before it’s too late. Affordable healthcare isn’t a privilege; it’s a right!

Let me advise the Tinubu-led administration that it should ensure that laws are not only enacted but also effectively implemented, backed by tangible actions, to address the pressing issues facing Nigerians from the cost of drugs, insecurity, poverty, infrastructure decay, corruption, politícal impunity, etcetera.

This is what was obtained in other clients across the globe.
