The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recently conducted a series of powerful and well-coordinated airstrikes that have dealt a significant blow to terrorist networks in Nigeria’s North-East and North-West regions. This marks a notable advancement in the country’s ongoing fight against terrorism.

Multiple security sources report that these air operations specifically targeted crucial terrorist hideouts, logistics centers, and the routes used by armed groups that have been responsible for years of violent attacks, kidnappings, and widespread destruction across various states.

The strikes are thought to have focused on areas associated with ISWAP, factions of Boko Haram, bandit groups, and other criminal networks, particularly in the remote forests and border areas that have long been safe havens for militants.

Military insiders have shared that the operation was driven by intelligence, combining aerial surveillance with precise strikes aimed at breaking down command structures and hindering the terrorists’ ability to regroup or launch new attacks.  Nigerian Air Force

Preliminary assessments indicate that the recent airstrikes led to:

– The destruction of several terrorist camps
– The neutralization of key commanders
– Disruption of supply chains and communication lines

While official casualty figures haven’t been released yet, security analysts are calling this operation one of the most significant air campaigns we’ve seen in recent months.

As of this report, the Nigerian military hasn’t provided a complete operational briefing. However, officials have confirmed that operations are still underway, and more updates will come as assessments are finalized.

Residents in areas that have suffered from insurgent violence for a long time are feeling a cautious sense of hope. They’re optimistic that the ongoing military pressure might finally bring peace, allow farming to resume, and enable displaced families to return home.

Security experts emphasize that while airstrikes are vital, achieving lasting peace will also require ongoing ground operations, intelligence sharing, and active community involvement.

Do you believe that sustained airstrikes can truly put an end to terrorism in Nigeria, or is there more that needs to be done?

Prominent Nigerian cleric and Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, has sparked a fresh conversation about Nigeria’s political landscape by expressing his belief in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s capability to mend what he calls a deeply “broken system.”

“The system is broken. You can’t fix the Presidency and leave the system,” Ashimolowo stated. “In my opinion, I believe Tinubu is ready to fix this nation. I think he has experienced it all and has good intentions.”

His comments come at a time when Nigeria is facing significant challenges, including soaring inflation, insecurity, high unemployment rates, and widespread public discontent with governance.

However, Ashimolowo’s support for the President hasn’t gone without criticism. Political commentator and public affairs analyst Okwy Chris quickly countered, arguing that President Tinubu has not been a passive observer but rather an active participant in the systemic issues plaguing Nigeria today.    Nigerian Air Force

“Sir Matthew, Tinubu has played a significant role in breaking the system from 2012 to now,” Okwy Chris remarked. “You can’t dismantle the system for years and then suddenly claim to be the one to fix it.” Continue reading here
