Today, the remains of three brothers—Stephen Onyeka Omatu (50), Casmir Nnabuike Omatu (39), and Collins Kenechukwu Omatu (37)—were laid to rest in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. They tragically lost their lives in the Great Nigeria Insurance House fire on Lagos Island.

The burial was a somber affair, following an emotional Service of Songs and Requiem Mass. Family, friends, clergy, and sympathizers gathered to pay their respects and honor the brothers, mourning a loss that many described as simply unbearable.3 Anambra State Sons

These three men were among the many victims of the devastating fire that broke out on December 24, 2025, at the Great Nigeria Insurance Building, situated near Balogun Market on Martins Street, Lagos Island.

Eyewitness accounts and initial investigations indicated that the fire spread quickly, trapping people inside. Despite the brave efforts of emergency responders, many lives were lost, igniting nationwide outrage over the recurring fire incidents and the lack of safety enforcement in commercial areas.  3 Anambra State Sons

The tragedy hit particularly hard for the clergy, as the victims were brothers to Rev. Fr. Williams Omatu, a Catholic priest. In a heartfelt message, Rev. Fr.
