Rudeboy Reveals Why He Lives in Ikoyi, Says People Pressure Him to Change Cars, Clothes

Nigerian singer Rudeboy, formerly one half of the defunct music duo P-Square, has spoken about the pressure he faces over his lifestyle, revealing that people judge him over his choice of clothes, cars and even where he buys food.

The singer made this known in a statement that has sparked reactions on social media, with some users supporting his position while others questioned his response to public criticism.

Rudeboy explained that his public image makes it difficult for him to carry out some everyday activities without worrying about how people might interpret his actions.

“I can’t buy food from roadside sellers; they’ll say I’m going broke,” he said.

The singer also spoke about the criticism he could face for wearing the same outfit on different occasions, explaining that even his clothing choices could become a subject of public discussion.

“I can wear a cloth to an interview and mistakenly wear it again to perform, and they’ll say I’m repeating clothes,” Rudeboy stated.

He further complained about expectations surrounding his vehicles, saying that people could question his financial status if he continued driving the same car for a month.

“If I drive the same car for a month, they say I should change it,” he added.

Rudeboy also addressed suggestions that he should move to another house, asking whether those making such comments knew where he lived.

“Now they said I should change my house. Do you know where I live? Ikoyi, Lagos,” the singer said.

His remarks have generated different opinions online, with some social media users arguing that celebrities should be allowed to live according to their personal preferences without constantly responding to public expectations.
