Atiku’s Son Dumps Father, Backs Tinubu for 2027, Unveils Big Plan

Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition in 2027.

He unveiled a political organisation, announced a two-million-man mobilisation march and promised 10 luxury buses to ease transportation.

His announcement in Abuja has attracted attention because his father is the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate for the next election.

Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has taken a different political position from his father ahead of the 2027 presidential election, declaring support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.

Abba made the announcement in Abuja during a press conference, where he also introduced a political movement and revealed plans to mobilise millions of supporters for Tinubu across the country.

Atiku’s son launches Tinubu support organisation

At the event, Abba unveiled the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), a political platform established to mobilise Nigerians behind Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He explained that his decision was based on his personal political beliefs, adding that his family background would not stop him from making an independent choice.

Abba acknowledged that his position could attract public attention because of his father’s political involvement. However, he maintained that everyone has the right to support their preferred candidate.

He said:

“Political conviction is a matter of personal judgement, conscience and the freedom of every individual to make independent choices.”

The organisation, according to him, would take government policies closer to Nigerians and encourage grassroots participation.

Why Abba is supporting Tinubu

The former vice president’s son also highlighted some of the Tinubu administration’s policies that influenced his decision.

He mentioned the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides interest-free student loans and start-up financing for graduates. He also listed investments in road and transportation infrastructure, increased Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) distributions to states and the N70,000 transportation support for workers.

As part of the organisation’s activities, Abba announced plans to provide 10 luxury buses, beginning in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), before extending the arrangement to other states.

Two-million-man march planned for 2027

Abba further disclosed that HBTO was preparing a two-million-man mobilisation march across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, with Abuja serving as the starting point.

He also announced plans to work towards delivering the FCT and Rivers State for Tinubu, adding that a major mobilisation exercise would take place in Rivers State the following week.

He explained that the movement was interested in establishing an organised grassroots network rather than simply gathering large crowds for political appearances.

Meanwhile, another Tinubu support mobilisation effort has emerged in Kano State.

Dr Maryam Shetty, Director of the Kano Professional Women Directorate for Presidential and Governorship Elections, announced plans to mobilise 500,000 professional women in support of Tinubu and Governor Abba Yusuf.

She described the governor’s leadership as encouraging for women seeking greater involvement in governance and community development.

Shetty said the APC Kano Professional Women platform would bring together professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists and entrepreneurs, to contribute their expertise to development.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Muhammad Sabi Yahya Jingir has praised President Bola Tinubu for travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

The JIBWIS cleric said Tinubu’s pilgrimage made him extremely happy and linked it to the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

His remarks have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with Nigerians debating religion, insecurity and the country’s leadership.

Sheikh Muhammad Sabi Yahya Jingir, the Chairman of the Ulama’u Council of JIBWIS WW, has explained why he supports the Muslim-Muslim ticket following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s latest trip to Saudi Arabia.

The Islamic cleric said he was extremely happy when he learnt that Tinubu had travelled to Makkah to perform Umrah, describing the development as one of the reasons Muslims should continue to appreciate the Muslim-Muslim arrangement. Continue reading here.
