However, Pino Vibes, the owner of the popular Gossip Mill platform, believes Nigerians are missing a crucial point.
“It’s a Big Lie!” – Pino Vibes Responds
During a live session, Pino explained that while the $14 million figure could be accurate, it’s the conversion to Naira that makes it sound so outrageous. He pointed out that the steep decline of the Naira over the years has skewed how Nigerians view dollar-denominated expenses.

“Back in 2013, I bought a Honda Crosstour for $60,000, which was just ₦9.4 million because the exchange rate was ₦158/$1. Today, that same car would set you back ₦93 million at ₦1,550/$1. The dollar hasn’t really changed much — it’s our Naira that has lost over 90% of its value,” he noted.
The Naira’s Downfall Uncovered
Breaking it down even further, Pino shared:
In 2013, a $14 million wedding would have cost around ₦2.2 billion, not the ₦21 billion it’s being touted as in 2025.
Similarly, Davido’s $3.7 million wedding that made headlines last year would have only been about ₦584 million back in 2013, not the ₦5.7 billion that’s being discussed today. Pino Vibes breaks down
Why Nigerians Are Feeling the Squeeze
Pino emphasized that the real issue is Nigeria’s heavy reliance on imports — meaning the dollar sets the prices — while salaries and wages have barely budged in the last decade.
This growing divide between the Naira’s value and everyday earnings is why the average Nigerian feels the strain more than ever, even when celebrities are spending in dollars. Pino Vibes breaks down
The Big Question
As fans continue to debate whether Mr Eazi’s wedding was “too pricey,” experts argue that the real conversation should center around the crippling weakness of the Naira and its impact on the economy and everyday citizens.
What’s your take? Are these celebrity weddings genuinely extravagant, or is it just the weak Naira making them seem that way?

Lagos, Nigeria – The iconic Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has ignited a nationwide conversation with his bold remarks about how wealthy Nigerian men choose to spend their money. Pino Vibes breaks down
In a recent discussion, the seasoned actor pointed out that some rich Nigerians are willing to shell out as much as ₦150 million on women, yet they often brush off young men who seek their help with the all-too-familiar phrase: “Go and work hard!”
Kanayo expressed his disappointment, noting that many diligent youths just need a little encouragement to thrive, but they’re frequently overlooked by those who could really make a difference in their lives.
“These so-called benefactors know that most young men are struggling and only need a bit of support. Instead of helping them grow, they choose to squander their resources elsewhere,” he lamented.
His comments have quickly gained traction on social media, sparking a lively debate among Nigerians about whether the wealthy truly show favoritism in their charitable choices.
Many Nigerians resonated with Kanayo’s perspective, labeling his comments as a “harsh reality” of modern society.
On the flip side, some argued that wealth is rightfully owned by individuals, and they should have the freedom to spend it as they please.
