“It’s honestly draining to watch this happen over and over. You’re laughing at a legend in a movie today, and by tomorrow, you’re seeing a heartbreaking video of them on a hospital bed, begging for donations just to stay alive. Usually, the first thing out of everyone’s mouth is:

Once that initial production money is spent, it is gone forever.
Bob-Manuel revealed that the public pressure to maintain a flashy lifestyle often forces these stars to live beyond their actual means. When you combine low structural pay with the current economic inflation in Nigeria, even the biggest stars are left living hand-to-mouth. Producers want to maximize profit, and the actors are left carrying the heavy cost of fuel, accommodation, and basic survival out of their own shrinking pockets.

During a revealing media chat, Bob-Manuel didn’t hold back on the gender dynamics within the industry. He stated plainly that life is generally easier for females than it is for males in Nigeria’s entertainment circle. In a society that places the entire financial burden of the home on the man, male actors are facing a silent, suffocating crisis.
