Hanks Anuku defends Tinubu; sparks fierce debates as the Nollywood actor fiercely urges Nigerians to be patient amid terrible economic hardship.
Social media basically exploded after veteran actor Hanks Anuku dropped a fresh video coming out in full support of President Bola Tinubu. The movie star came out guns blazing, telling struggling Nigerians to calm down and stop looking for instant miracles from Aso Rock.
According to him, the terrible economic hardship biting hard across the country today was not created by the present government, pointing fingers instead at past leaders who ran the nation’s economy into the ground.
“Nigerians should be patient with Tinubu because he’s doing great, we’re too much in a hurry,” the actor said, making his position on the Hanks Anuku Tinubu debate crystal clear.
He pushed further by asking why angry citizens keep directing all their furious heat toward Aso Rock while completely ignoring the politicians who held power before May 2023.
The country was not spo!lt by him, there were people before him, why don’t they go and att@ck those people?” Anuku asked, insisting that “the dev!l we know is better than the angel we don’t.” Saying something like that when everyday transport fares are through the roof and food prices are driving people crazy was always going to trigger a massive uproar.
While ruling party supporters praised the actor for speaking truth about how long real change takes, thousands of social media users tore into him. Critics slammed the veteran star, arguing that it is very easy for a comfortable celebrity to tell hungry people on the street to be patient.
Love his stance or hate it, Anuku’s defense has reignited a fierce national debate about who should really take the blame for Nigeria’s current economic struggles.

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has issued a stern arrest warning to youths organizing the “Tinubu Must Go” protest while wearing weapon-branded shirts in Maiduguri. The governor vowed to crackdown on troublemakers to prevent the state capital from sliding back into violent unrest.
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has drawn a hard line, warning that anybody caught joining the “Tinubu Must Go” protest inside his state should prepare for immediate arrest.
The governor did not sound like a man willing to negotiate when he spoke about the troubling trend. His problem is not just the political agitation itself, but the dangerous elements now hiding behind it and the offensive items they are carrying around Maiduguri.
What really triggered his furious outburst was the clothing and weapons display. According to Zulum, some of these young men are moving around town in singlets printed with graphics of firearms and knives, openly identifying themselves with disruptive groups.
“You put it in writing on the singlet. You wear a T-shirt showing a sign of arms and knives. You wear the singlet and move around claiming to belong to a particular group,” he said during his broadcast. Hanks Anuku defends Tinubu
For a state that has spent well over a decade crawling out of the devastating wreckage left behind by Boko Haram, that kind of armed display is taken extremely seriously. Zulum made it clear that folding his arms is simply not an option anymore. He warned that if these activities continue unchecked, Maiduguri will quickly slide back into a place where nobody can safely live. Continue reading here
