Just In: NDC Secretariat in Ikpoba-Okha, Edo State Reportedly Attacked (Vide0)

NDC secretariat in Ikpoba-Okha, Edo State was reportedly attacked on Tuesday with no casualties reported so far. Details are still emerging.

The New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) secretariat in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State, had an unwelcome visitor on Tuesday, when unidentified persons reportedly stormed the premises, setting off an attack that’s since become the major gist around town.

Ask anyone around there, and they’ll mention the date without missing a beat — October 13, 2026. It’s the one detail everyone seems to agree on as they try to make sense of how it all went down. Accounts vary depending on who’s telling the story, but one thing seems consistent: the attack came suddenly, and it’s left people rattled.

So far, no casualty has been recorded, which many within the party say they’re grateful for, given how things could have gone. That said, the actual scale of the damage is still anybody’s guess. Whether the building suffered structural damage, or what became of sensitive office equipment, party documents and other items kept at the secretariat, remains unconfirmed as things stand.

According to information gathered by NewsFlash NGR, a palpable sense of unease has settled over parts of the local government since the attack. Some residents say they’ve started being more cautious, particularly around the secretariat’s vicinity, while others are simply waiting to hear something concrete from either the police or party officials. Details continue to emerge in bits and pieces, with some accounts conflicting outright.

As it stands, nobody has been named or arrested in connection with the attack, and there’s no official word yet on what sparked it. Theories are already going around informally, but none of them have been confirmed, so this medium isn’t jumping to conclusions until something more solid comes to light.

Attempts by this medium to reach the Edo State Police Command and NDC leadership for an official reaction proved abortive as at press time. Calls and messages put across to relevant officials had yet to receive any response.

Ikpoba-Okha, for those familiar with Edo politics, is no stranger to political heat. It’s one of the council areas where political activities tend to run hot, so an attack on a party office there is the kind of thing that would normally get security agencies and political stakeholders moving fast.

This latest development only adds to an already tense political atmosphere building up in parts of Edo State lately, something observers worry could spiral further if nothing concrete is done about security as election-related activities draw nearer.

This medium had reached out to the Edo State Police Command before this report was published, seeking their side of things. A response is still being awaited.

We will keep updating this report as fresh details emerge.
