JoMajze Larry, a 15-year-old Indiana teenager, has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for his role in a gang shooting that killed Dayla Swain.
A 15-year-old Indiana teenager, Jo’Majze Larry, has been sentenced to 100 years in pr!son after a failed gang-related att@ck claimed the life of an innocent woman and left two other people !njured outside a nightclub.
Judge David Happe of the Madison County Court handed down the sentence after a jury found Larry guilty of mrder, attempted mrder and conspiracy. He also admitted to an enhancement charge linked to his involvement in an organised cr!minal enterprise.
According to court records, Larry, who authorities identified as a member of the Mickey Cobra Nation (MCN) street gang, was among a group allegedly sent to k!ll a witness connected to an earlier h0micide case.
The incident happened outside Sonny Ray’s nightclub in Anderson, Indiana, on February 2, 2025.

Prosecutors told the court that the intended target escaped, but the g*nfire struck 26-year-old Dayla Swain, who was not involved in the dispute. She d!ed from her !njuries. Another woman was sh0t, while a third victim was hit by the suspects’ getaway vehicle as they fled the scene. JoMajze Larry
Investigators linked the sh00ting to a long-running gang feud connected to the 2023 r0bbery and k!lling of 15-year-old Jullian Craig. That case recently resulted in the m*rder conviction of 20-year-old Donavan Harris.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that Larry and the other suspects planned the att@ck to silence a witness expected to testify in that case.
Judge Happe divided Larry’s punishment into two parts. He received 50 years for the m*rder of Dayla Swain and another 50 years after pleading guilty to the gang-related sentence enhancement, bringing his total pr!son term to 100 years.
Rashawn Samuels, 19, was sentenced to 125 years in pr!son. His sentence includes 62½ years for m*rder and another 62½ years under the gang enhancement. JoMajze Larry
Kyree Craver, also 19, is already serving a 90-year pr!son sentence for his role in Swain’s de@th.
A fourth suspect charged in the case is still awaiting trial.
The lengthy sentences reflect the tough stance taken by prosecutors and the court against gang-related violence, especially att@cks involving witnesses and sh00tings in public places.
Although Larry has effectively been handed a life sentence, Indiana law gives juvenile offenders tried as adults a limited opportunity to seek a review of their sentence. JoMajze Larry
Under state law, a person who was under 18 when the cr!me was committed can ask a judge to review their sentence after serving at least 20 years in pr!son. JoMajze Larry
A sentence review does not guarantee release or a reduced pr!son term. It simply allows the court to consider whether the original sentence should remain in place after reviewing the circumstances at that time.
For now, Jo’Majze Larry will begin serving his 100-year pr!son sentence alongside the other convicted gang members, while the family of Dayla Swain continues to mourn the loss of their loved one. JoMajze Larry
