Spyro Slams Nigerians Defending Poor Power Supply, Says Everything is Not Okay

Nigerian singer Spyro has criticised the country’s poor electricity supply after visiting an EKDC office to complain about receiving no power despite paying for Band A service.

The singer was surprised to find electricity workers sweating and using hand fans because their own office had no electricity.

A female employee’s emotional revelation about being mocked by her neighbours for working at the electricity company has sparked further conversation about Nigeria’s power crisis.

Nigerian singer Spyro has expressed frustration over Nigeria’s persistent electricity challenges after an unexpected experience at an electricity distribution company’s office.

The singer, who visited an EKDC office to complain about paying for Band A electricity without receiving power, said what he witnessed there left him both disappointed and concerned about the workers.

Spyro shares experience at EKDC office

In a post shared on his social media page, the music star explained that he went to the office out of frustration to demand an explanation for the poor electricity supply despite paying for the premium Band A service.

However, instead of finding a comfortable working environment where his complaint could be addressed, Spyro discovered that the employees were also struggling without electricity.

According to him, the workers were using hand fans to cope with the heat inside the office.

The experience reportedly changed his mood, as he began to feel sympathy for the employees who were expected to attend to customers despite facing the same electricity problem.

Female worker makes shocking revelation

Spyro also recounted a conversation with a female employee who attended to him during his visit.

The woman reportedly told him that her neighbours mocked her because she worked for an electricity distribution company but still had no electricity in her own home.

Her revelation appeared to make a strong impression on the singer, who used the experience to question the state of affairs in the country.

Sharing his frustration, Spyro wrote:

“I went to EKDC office out of fraustration to find out why I pay for band A and yet zero electricity and on getting there I got moved by compassion as the workers were literally fanning themselves,no electricity and the lady that attended to me said ‘my neighbors shame me for working here yet I have no light.

“And yet some FOOLS still seem to think everything is okay in this country 🫠”

The singer’s experience highlights the irony of electricity workers operating without a reliable power supply while customers continue to complain about poor service.

Why Spyro’s experience matters

Newsflashngr noted that Band A customers pay for a higher level of electricity service, making the absence of power particularly frustrating for consumers who expect a more reliable supply.

Spyro’s account also draws attention to the working conditions of electricity distribution company employees, who appear to be dealing with some of the same challenges faced by the customers they serve.

Meanwhile, in an earlier report, Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has criticised Nigeria’s persistent electricity problems, questioning why reliable power remains a challenge in 2026.

The actress said electricity sometimes lasts for only five minutes, forcing households to depend on generators and solar energy.

Her remarks have sparked reactions on social media, with Nigerians sharing their struggles with heat, rising fuel costs and poor power supply.
