The Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, made the remarks while addressing members of her ministry, New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, as some Nigerians took to social media to share different opinions about her message.
Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has challenged the tendency to associate wealthy people with money rituals and other questionable sources of income, telling members of her ministry that some individuals spent years working hard before becoming financially successful.
Tonto Dikeh made the remarks during a recent ministration to members of her New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, where she urged people to reconsider their assumptions about how wealthy men and women make their money.
In a video from the religious gathering circulating online, the actress addressed perceptions that often surround people who acquire considerable wealth, particularly those whose financial success attracts public attention.
“Not every rich man is a ritualist and not every rich woman sleeps with men for money,” she said.
She added that some individuals had invested years of hard work in their businesses and careers before achieving financial success.
“Some people worked hard for years and don’t even know God because they discovered a gift within them and didn’t let it slip,” Tonto Dikeh said.
Her comments have attracted reactions from Nigerians on social media, with some agreeing with her position while others used the opportunity to make jokes about her growing involvement in religious activities.
Tonto Dikeh’s growing involvement in ministry
The latest development comes months after the actress established her own religious movement, New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), in August 2026.
Newsflashngr reported that Tonto Dikeh, on 10 August 2026, announced the movement through her Instagram page, describing it as an interdenominational spiritual gathering for Christians seeking a deeper relationship with God.
She explained that the ministry was established to promote prayer, revival and spiritual development.
The actress also made it clear that she did not intend to present NWPT as a conventional church.
“This is not a church; it is an intense gathering of those consecrated and equipped for the purposes of God,” the statement announcing the movement read.

According to the announcement, the ministry holds weekly fellowship on Fridays at 6 pm.
The establishment of the ministry followed Dikeh’s increasingly visible involvement in Christian activities and her public testimonies about changes she said she experienced after embracing Christianity.
What Nigerians are saying
The actress’s latest preaching has generated different reactions, with some social media users focusing on her message about wealth while others questioned her new religious role.
An X user, Alaba, appeared to make a humorous reference to the financial aspect of running a religious organisation.
“Omo olomo. She don move up to the 10% update. No business beats that business. 10% of your earnings, I don’t even need to know how much you earn or how you make it. I will still venture into that business soon Inshallahu,” the user wrote.
Another user, identified as Mr Light, reacted with humour, writing:
“Toto Dike dey preach. Make I just dey go hell direct no need for heaven.”
A third user, Chinemel, questioned the judgment of people who accept the actress’s religious messages.
“People that are being deceived by this content creator preacher are the dumbest Nigerians ever,” the user wrote.
However, not all the comments were critical of Dikeh’s message.
Prince Ademola Salami agreed with her position, arguing that people should not automatically associate financial success with criminal or spiritual practices.
“This is well said. If I see a RICH MAN and someone tells me ‘na ritual e do,’ I go just shift from the person,” he wrote.
He added that some individuals had genuinely worked their way to the top through determination and hard work.
Another user, Savage King, focused on the actress’s appearance during the ministration, joking about her head tie.
“Mummy G.O, this your head tie be like peacock oooooo,” the user commented.
Meanwhile, Abayomi Stephen questioned the development of Dikeh’s religious activities, referring to her previous involvement in event organisation.
“So from arranging chairs at events to owning a church. The country is just failing at all levels….. May God help us,” the user wrote.
