Eniola Badmus Backs Tinubu, Says Social Media Followers Don’t Win Elections

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has openly declared her support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

The actress says Tinubu deserves praise for his tax reforms, NELFUND and efforts in the education sector.

Eniola Badmus argues that grassroots support, rather than a huge social media following, will determine who wins the next presidential election.

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has declared her support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that he will secure another term in office.

The actress praised some of the president’s policies, including his tax reforms and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), while arguing that political support on social media does not necessarily translate into votes.

Eniola Badmus explains why she supports Tinubu

Eniola Badmus said she believes Tinubu has made significant contributions to Nigeria and deserves recognition for the reforms introduced by his administration.

According to the actress, some Nigerians have refused to acknowledge the president’s achievements despite what she described as positive developments in different sectors.

She specifically mentioned the tax reforms and NELFUND, adding that Tinubu had also performed well in the education sector.

Explaining her decision to campaign for the president, Badmus expressed confidence in his chances of winning the next election.

“That’s why I’m campaigning for him and will be voting for him. He will win.”

Her declaration comes as political activities and conversations around the 2027 presidential election continue to attract attention.

Eniola Badmus speaks on social media influence in elections

The actress also questioned the belief that having a large social media following automatically gives a politician an advantage during elections.

Badmus argued that online popularity should not be confused with actual electoral support, stressing that grassroots mobilisation remains important in determining election outcomes.

She maintained that Tinubu has supporters at the grassroots level, which she believes gives him an advantage.

“Some people think elections are won on social media, but having a huge online following doesn’t automatically translate into votes. The grassroots matter, and Tinubu has that support.”
