Aliko Dangote, the Nigerian billionaire businessman, has accepted an invitation from popular content creator Adebayo Ridwan, known as Bae U Barbie, to appear on his YouTube show, Curiosity Made Me Ask.
The invitation came during a conversation in which Bae U questioned Dangote about his media appearances and why he should engage more with younger Nigerians interested in his business and the planned public offering of his company.
The content creator argued that the rich man always has interviews on the platforms that younger audiences do not regularly watch.
Bae U said his generation wanted opportunities to hear directly from the billionaire, particularly as interest grows in his business and investment opportunities associated with his company.
Why Bae U invited Aliko Dangote to curiosity made me ask
During the conversation, Bae U explained that his request was not an attempt to interfere with Dangote’s media team but an opportunity to connect the businessman with a younger audience.
He told the billionaire that many people his age were interested in his business and would welcome the chance to learn from his experiences.
Bae U also pointed out that younger Nigerians needed access to conversations with successful businesspeople who could explain how they built their wealth and developed their companies.
The content creator then asked when Dangote would appear on Curiosity Made Me Ask, a programme known for bringing prominent personalities into conversations with its host.
Responding to the invitation, Dangote acknowledged that younger Nigerians were an important audience and said the older generation had a responsibility to share its experiences.
“The future that we have is actually you, the youth,” Dangote said, acknowledging the importance of young people to Nigeria’s future.
He also admitted that his generation had not done enough for Nigeria and Africa, stressing the need for conversations between older and younger people about the country’s development.
Dangote speaks on young Nigerians
Aliko Dangote said discussions between generations could help young people understand the experiences, decisions and challenges that shaped the country.
He noted that some younger Nigerians might have limited knowledge of important political figures and historical developments.
Dangote mentioned former President Olusegun Obasanjo as an example, suggesting that younger audiences might be more familiar with him because he returned to power after his earlier time as military head of state.

Bae U interrupted the conversation to credit himself for providing Obasanjo with a platform to engage younger Nigerians.
“Thanks to me. I gave him the platform, sir,” the content creator said, referring to the interview he had with the former president.
Dangote agreed that people like Bae U could help bridge the gap between prominent Nigerians and younger audiences.
He indicated that future engagements should involve more direct conversations in which young people could ask questions about his business journey, achievements and personal experiences.
When Bae U pressed him about appearing on the programme, Dangote gave a positive response, saying, “We will come.”
The response suggests that the billionaire is willing to engage the content creator’s audience, although the report did not provide a confirmed date for the proposed appearance.

Bae U to Dangote: you don’t have to stand, sit down, it’s fine. Most of the interviews we see you in are on the platforms that my generation doesn’t watch. I think it’s high time we had the man with the biggest refinery on the biggest show on YouTube. Curiosity made me ask, when do you think we can have you, sir?

Aliko Dangote explains why he takes photographs with fans
Beyond the invitation, Dangote discussed the support and respect he receives from young Nigerians, including when he travels outside the country.
He explained that people around him sometimes try to prevent members of the public from approaching him for photographs. However, he prefers to accommodate such requests.
The businessman linked his attitude to an experience from his younger days, when he travelled with his grandfather and encountered prominent personalities in Washington.
According to Dangote, he and his grandfather asked to take photographs with the people they met. The experience influenced how he responds when members of the public approach him today.
He also addressed suggestions that a photograph shared on social media meant he was asking God for more blessings.
Dangote clarified that he was not making a request for additional blessings but expressing gratitude for what he had already received.
“I wasn’t begging for anything,” he said, explaining that his message was about acknowledging how greatly God had blessed him.
The billionaire’s remarks also reflected his belief that wealth and social status should not prevent people from living simply or connecting with others.
