Just In: Ruth Kadira Questions Lack of Online Buzz About Nigeria’s 2027 Election

Ruth Kadira 2027 election post questions online silence as Tinubu, Atiku and Peter Obi prepare for Nigeria’s January 16 presidential poll.

Nigerian actress Ruth Kadira has questioned the apparent silence on social media surrounding the country’s January 2027 presidential election.

“Presidential ELECTION is in January… Soft reminder… No news of it online ✌️,” she wrote in a post, reminding Nigerians that the election is not as far away as it might seem.

As 2027 draws nearer, eyes are already on President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi — three names Nigerians already know well. Tinubu wants another term with APC, running alongside Kashim Shettima.

Atiku is back in the race, this time under ADC with Rotimi Amaechi beside him. Obi, on his part, is going under NDC, with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as running mate. But for the average Nigerian, the real issue isn’t the names on the ballot — it’s what anyone actually plans to change.

Food prices are still biting hard, insecurity hasn’t let up, and jobs remain scarce. People want real answers, not another round of campaign talk.Ruth Kadira

Kadira’s post also touches on something many people may be wondering: why does the election not seem to be getting more attention online yet? Still, a quiet social media timeline does not necessarily mean people are not following the political developments.

As the race heats up, it will eventually come down to Nigerians deciding which of these candidates they trust to actually fix the country’s problems.  Ruth Kadira

So what do you think — are Nigerians already paying close attention to the 2027 election, or will the real conversations only start when election day is just around the corner?

The actor said Obi had never stolen public funds and claimed Nigerians wanted him to become the country’s next president.
Newsflash had earlier reported how veteran Nollywood actors, including Antar Laniyan and Jide Kosoko, expressed support for President Bola Tinubu, highlighting the different political positions among entertainers.

The actor’s comments have generated reactions on social media, with Nigerians expressing different opinions about Obi’s political record, his chances of winning a presidential election and whether he could deliver on his promises if elected.

In the Instagram post, Olabanji wrote: “Peter Obi is the most loved, honest and truthful politician in Nigeria now. He has a good record home and abroad, he has never stolen any public found, he is not a thief like others, he is very competent and can’t be compared to any other politician in Nigeria. Nigerians say they want Peter Obi as their next president of Nigeria.”

The actor’s praise for Peter Obi has attracted mixed reactions from social media users, with some questioning the former governor’s ability to lead Nigeria and others defending the candidate they like.
