VDM has challenged Pastor David Ibiyeomie after the cleric claimed that people he curses become useless for life.
The online activist demanded that the pastor identify people he had previously cursed and dared him to direct the same words at him.
The exchange, which followed a sermon by the Salvation Ministries founder, has triggered mixed reactions on social media.
Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, has challenged Pastor David Ibiyeomie to demonstrate his claimed spiritual power after the cleric made a controversial statement about cursing people.
The activist responded in a video, questioning the pastor’s declaration that anyone he curses becomes useless for life. His reaction has since generated different opinions online.
What Pastor Ibiyeomie said about cursing his critics
During a sermon, Pastor Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries warned people against troubling him, claiming that his curses had serious consequences for anyone who crossed him.
The cleric also challenged people to investigate his claim by checking social media platforms for evidence of those he had allegedly cursed.
He said:
“Anyone who tries to trouble me, if I curse you, your own is finished. Check all social media platforms. There is no one I have cursed that is still existing.”
His declaration attracted attention, particularly because of the strong language he used while addressing his critics.
VDM challenges the pastor
Reacting to the sermon, VeryDarkMan questioned the pastor’s statement and demanded that he provide the names of people who had allegedly suffered the consequences of his curses.
The activist also dared Ibiyeomie to direct the same curse at him, challenging the cleric to prove his declaration.
VDM further questioned the use of fear and threats in religious teachings, bringing attention to the relationship between religious authority and public criticism.
