Nigerian streamer Carter Efe has directed a series of disturbing insults at social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) and his mother during a heated livestream.
The streamer made the remarks amid the growing tension between them, bringing Davido and Zlatan Ibile into the argument. His comments have since triggered different reactions among social media users.
Carter Efe unleashes anger on VDM’s mother
During the livestream, Carter Efe expressed anger over VDM’s repeated criticisms of celebrities, particularly Davido and Zlatan.
He also accused the activist of attempting to bring him down, while boasting about his achievements as a streamer.
Carter did not stop at attacking VDM. He extended his remarks to the activist’s mother, making a disturbing statement about her death.
“It shall never be well with VDM’s mother. She will d!e this new week. VDM has the guts to insult Zlatan and Davido. God will take his life. He thought he could bring me down, but God has made me Africa’s biggest streamer.”
His outburst has added another layer to the disagreement between the two internet personalities.
How Davido and Zlatan became part of the dispute
Carter Efe has previously defended Davido against VDM’s criticisms, accusing the activist of turning against someone who had supported him in the past.
The tension has also played out against the background of VDM’s online exchanges involving Zlatan and the Adeleke family, to which Davido belongs.
VDM’s criticisms of celebrities and their families have continued to attract reactions from their supporters, with some defending his right to speak while others have challenged his approach.
Carter’s latest comments have now brought the dispute back into the spotlight, particularly because he involved VDM’s mother.
How VDM’s clashes with Davido and Zlatan fuelled the tension
The latest outburst comes amid VDM’s public disagreements with some prominent Nigerian entertainers, particularly Davido and Zlatan Ibile.
VDM’s criticisms of the musicians and his online attacks involving the Adeleke family, to which Davido belongs, have also attracted attention. The family-related controversy comes amid discussions about Davido’s uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and his support for the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Zlatan has also become part of the controversy following his wedding. Shortly after the ceremony, the rapper released a snippet of an upcoming song containing a lyric in which he referred to VDM as a “masturbatør”. The snippet subsequently became another talking point amid the tension surrounding the rapper and VDM.
Reactions trail Carter Efe’s outburst
The livestream comments have divided social media users. While some believe Carter is giving VDM a taste of his own medicine, others have condemned the involvement of family members.
