The journalist also referenced the reported price of the vehicles, putting the cost of each 2026 Toyota Prado at more than ₦145 million.

Newsflashngr reported that Israel announced the presentation in a social media post that was later deleted.

In the post, the APC youth leader explained that the vehicles were intended to support selected youth leaders in carrying out election mobilisation activities.

“Today, I presented brand new 2026 Prado to my committed selected youth leaders to aid their election mobilisation activities,” he wrote.

Israel also expressed gratitude to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for her “continuous support to the party structure” under his leadership.

He further stated that the party would demonstrate its strength during the election period through grassroots mobilisation.

“The party is supreme and that supremacy will show in our action in this election period – we will deliver polling unit by polling unit,” he added.

The announcement has drawn criticism from Nigerians who believe political spending should be considered alongside pressing public needs.

Reactions from Nigerians

Here are some of the comments shared by social media users following Oseni’s remarks and the Prado SUV controversy.

You are in a position to understand the challenges facing our public hospitals, yet we’re talking about billions for political mobilisation while healthcare facilities across Nigeria struggle with equipment, supplies, ambulances and adequate staffing.

Imagine how many lives could be saved if we gave healthcare the same attention we give election mobilisation.”
