“He Is Our Fellow Muslim’: Jigawa Speaker Tells Residents Why They Must Re-elect Tinubu

Jigawa Assembly Speaker Haruna Dangyatin has urged residents to vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, describing their support as a religious obligation.

Dangyatin said Tinubu deserves their backing because they share the same religion and the president has a Muslim running mate.

He made the declaration in Dutse during the inauguration of the APC presidential and governorship campaign council, promising house-to-house mobilisation across Jigawa.

The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Dangyatin, has told residents that supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 is a must, citing their shared religious identity. He made the declaration on Saturday, November 7, during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential and governorship campaign council in Dutse

The Jigawa speaker, Dangyatin argued that Tinubu’s religion, choice of a Muslim running mate and interest in Northern Nigeria were reasons Jigawa residents should support his administration for another term.

Why Jigawa Speaker wants residents to vote for Tinubu

Speaking at the event, Jigawa speaker, Dangyatin described Tinubu as a leader who understands the interests of Jigawa and the wider Northern region.

He also recalled the president’s support for the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari, suggesting that the North should return the favour by backing Tinubu.

The speaker maintained that the president’s religious identity and political choices made him deserving of support from residents of the state.

“Tinubu is our fellow Muslim and a leader who has the interests of Jigawa State at heart,” Dangyatin said.

He further disclosed that Jigawa was initially excluded from Tinubu’s campaign itinerary but said arrangements had now been made for the president to visit the state.

The development, according to the speaker, further reinforces the need for residents to support Tinubu and the APC across all levels of government.

APC confident ahead of 2027 elections

Jigawa speaker, Dangyatin also expressed confidence in the APC’s chances in the forthcoming elections, pointing to the presence of former governors, senators and federal lawmakers at the campaign council’s inauguration.

He described their participation as a sign of the party’s strength and political support in Jigawa.

The speaker, who also coordinates the City Boy Movement in the state, said the group would intensify its grassroots campaign to secure support for Tinubu and the state governor.
