A lot of people remember “One in a Million” like it just came out and blew up overnight. But according to Achievas Entertainment boss Ossy Achievas, it didn’t happen like that at all.
In fact, there was a time it almost didn’t click.
Back then, around 2007 to 2009, Solidstar had already recorded plenty songs. He was working, consistent, and the talent was obvious. But something just wasn’t landing the way it should. Solidstar 1 in a Million Story
Ossy said it himself — the voice was there, the effort was there… but that one special spark was missing.

So one day, he called him and said something simple but very specific:
“Forget fast songs for now. Give me something different… a proper love song.”
That was the turning point.
Solidstar went back, worked on it, and came back with something new. Something calmer, more emotional. That was the early version of what would later become “One in a Million.”
Then something unexpected happened.
They found themselves at Comfort Suites in Festac, and by chance, legendary producer OJB Jezreel was there working with 2Baba. Ossy didn’t waste the moment — he introduced Solidstar and pushed for a session. Solidstar 1 in a Million Story

When they finally met again, OJB asked to hear the song.
Solidstar sang it.
And almost immediately, OJB got it.
Within less than an hour — not even up to 40 minutes — the beat was ready, vocals were laid, and the foundation of the song was done. Just like that.
But even after that, there was still one more key moment.
OJB told Ossy something that would later change everything:
“If you can get 2Baba on this… it will be massive.”
That advice stuck.
Ossy took the song to 2Baba, and surprisingly, it didn’t take long. He connected with it almost instantly. By the time he traveled for his anniversary event in Abuja, he already knew the song well and had ideas for it.
That same Abuja trip became Solidstar’s first major stage appearance — the kind of moment every artist waits for.

Then came the video.
When Clarence Peters heard the song, he had a big vision — something that required serious money. Traveling to Erin Ijesha Waterfalls, involving top creatives… it wasn’t cheap at all.
At that point, it was a real risk.
But they went ahead anyway.
Looking back now, it’s easy to say it worked out. The song became a hit. People connected with it. It became part of the sound of that era.
But even now, people still see it differently.
Some believe bringing 2Baba into the song was the real game changer. Others feel the song already had something special, and it would have still found its way.
Either way, one thing is clear —
Sometimes, it’s just one small decision… one meeting… one advice… that changes everything.
